SPARC AT THE SHORELINE CLT HOUSE
We were thrilled to host the AIA Seattle Small Practice and Residential Committee for a tour of the Shoreline CLT House under construction. The house is dried-in for winter and construction is progressing well, slated for completion in mid 2026!
SEATTLE INCREASES ZONING DENSITY
Seattle’s zoning changes go into effect today, allowing 4-6 homes on every lot in the city. This welcome change will help gently increase density, provided much-needed housing.
atelierjones’ is currently pursuing pre-approval for a two-bedroom Modular Mass Timber Cottage that takes advantage of these new changes, either as a DADU or a 4-6 unit cottage court. Using locally-manufactured CLT sourced from local tribal lumber, these cottages form part of our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable missing middle housing.
ST. MARK’S AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT IN THE URBANIST
The Urbanist featured a well-researched and informative article explaining our study for affordable housing adjacent to St. Mark’s Cathedral on Capitol Hill. The article explains our proposed approach, as well as some of the current headwinds faced by affordable housing projects in Seattle. While we hope the delay to the project is short, we are grateful to be working with this forward-thinking institution to try and bring more affordable housing to our city.
